The study abroad application process for Meredith and Affiliate programs begins with a series of intentional and informative touchpoints with the Office of International Programs (OIP). These include study abroad workshops, fairs, one-on-one advising sessions, program information sessions, and ongoing communication via walk-ins, email, and social media.
We encourage students to begin the advising process early to make the most of these opportunities. Below, you鈥檒l find helpful steps to guide you as you begin your journey abroad.
Advising Steps
Attend a Study Abroad 101 Workshop
: No matter which program you choose, all students who are interested in study abroad are encouraged to attend this workshop as a first step in the advising process.
Come to the Annual Study Abroad Fair in September
Come to the Annual Study Abroad Fair on Tuesday, September 23 from 5-7PM in the BDH Courtyard. Every year, the OIP hosts our biggest study abroad event of the year where students can learn about program options for the upcoming year, as well as speak to faculty, study abroad alums, and affiliate providers.
Schedule a Study Abroad Advising Appointment
Schedule a study abroad advising appointment: If a student needs more guidance, they are welcome to schedule a study abroad advising appointment. For students wishing to explore Affiliate programs, it is highly recommended that students begin the 1:1 advising process early and often to ensure they are meeting application requirements and deadlines.
Attend a Funding Workshop
: Once a student has chosen a program, a Funding Workshop can provide valuable information related to study abroad program budgets, scholarships, additional financial aid, and creative saving strategies!
