Do I need a bachelor's degree to apply to Meredith's Paralegal Program?
Yes. Students must have a bachelor’s degree to be eligible for our program.听
If you haven’t earned a bachelor’s degree, Meredith can help you achieve that goal. Whether you’re a听traditional first-year,听transfer, or听adult student, our听Undergraduate Admissions听team is happy to guide you through the admissions process.听Please note that Meredith is an all-women’s college at the undergraduate level.
How much does the program cost?
The estimated cost of the program is $6,400. See the table under Tuition for a breakdown of tuition and fees.
Is financial aid available?
Yes. Students enrolled in the Paralegal Program are eligible for the Federal Stafford loan program. To be considered, students must fill out the form.
Please note: When completing the FAFSA form, paralegal students should select 鈥淥ther undergraduate (junior year and beyond)” as their college level. The Paralegal Program is classified as an undergraduate program, not a graduate certificate, master’s, or doctoral program.

There are also scholarship opportunities through the Raleigh-Wake Paralegal Association, the North Carolina Bar Association鈥檚 Paralegal Division, and the North Carolina Paralegal Association.
Additionally, employers may invest in their employees by paying for their tuition and books. Almost half of our students are sponsored by their employer.

According to North Carolina law, Parents and other third party individuals are required to have been granted proxy in order to gain access to the students financial information.
Students must request proxy access on behalf of their parents and other third party individuals. Students can request this access through their Self Service portal. Once access has been requested, Technology Services will email a link to the third party providing login credentials. Proxies can then view the student account and pay the bill at . Students will need to contact Financial Assistance and the Accounting Office in order to obtain an estimated cost. Once the estimated cost is provided, the student will need to make a payment in order to be cleared for registration. Payments can be made online at or in person in the Accounting Office (cash or check only). Once the payment is received, the student can contact the Registrar’s Office to complete registration. In lieu of full payment, Meredith offers a monthly payment plan each fall and spring. The fee to enroll each semester is $35.00. Pre-registered students should enroll by the tuition due date each semester to reserve classes 鈥� enroll by August 1 for fall and December 1 for spring.

What jobs are available to graduates of Meredith's Paralegal program?
Many of our students are hired by traditional law firms, non-profits, and local, state, and federal agencies. An increasing number of our students are entering corporations after graduation and pursuing careers in contracts and negotiations, compliance, intellectual property, corporate governance, project management, and more.
What skills are employers looking for?
Employers are looking for individuals who are organized, detail-oriented, calm, and who communicate well 鈥� someone who is a self-starter with a strong work ethic. Our program provides students with the necessary legal skills by focusing on practical application and theory, as well as the ability to identify potential issues.
Who are your students?
Our students come from a variety of backgrounds. 15-30% of our students are working in law firms and some of those students are sponsored by their employers to complete the program. Other students have recently earned a bachelor鈥檚 degree and are looking for additional skills to enter the workforce. Some are looking for a mid-career change or nearing retirement and want to help others under the supervision of an attorney.
What are the starting salaries for your program graduates?
Salaries vary considerably but many of our recent graduates have received starting salaries of $40,000 or higher in traditional paralegal roles. Salaries in corporations tend to be higher.
