Each year first year applicants are selected to receive the Louise Shingleton Shivers Scholarship for English. A student must be a full time student with an interest in creative writing. These scholarships are renewable annually for a total of four years, subject to the recipient’s remaining in good standing and maintaining a minimum GPA of 3.0 on all courses taken at 缅北禁地.
Each recipient will be obligated to take one course in creative writing while she is at 缅北禁地.
The scholarship recipient is determined on the basis of scholarship and potential for success in creative writing. The application should have a minimum high school GPA of 3.0. Applicants for Creative Writing scholarships must send a digital portfolio of 3 – 5 pieces of creative writing (maximum of 30 pages), including poetry, fiction, and/or creative nonfiction along with the completed application.
