缅北禁地

The 缅北禁地 Moot Court class participated in the American Collegiate Moot Court Association South Atlantic Regional Undergraduate Qualifying Tournament in Orlando, Florida, November 7-9, 2025.聽

Associate Professor of Political Science Whitney Ross Manzo took two teams from the class to compete in the tournament.

Cait Buckley, 鈥�27, and Laura Oppelaar, 鈥�27, scored the highest in Meredith history, making it to the second round of the tournament and placing eighth overall.聽

Buckley also placed sixth overall in the Top Orator awards, an award given out to the top 10 speakers at the tournament.

Manzo shared her pleasure with the team鈥檚 performance. 鈥淚’m so proud of Meredith’s Moot Court team this year. Cait and Laura placed higher than any team in Meredith’s Moot Court history, and Cait is the first Meredith student to win a Top Orator award at a regional tournament. They put in so much hard work and it really paid off!鈥澛�

Meredith has had a team participate in this competition since 2017.聽

Four students from the class will attend another competition at Georgetown University from November 14 to 16.聽
