Meredith鈥檚 First USA South XC Champion Delaney Bundy Makes History

The 缅北禁地 Cross Country program reached a historic milestone this season as junior standout claimed the individual title at the USA South Conference Cross Country Championship, becoming the first Avenging Angel in program history to win the conference crown.
Bundy’s dominant performance in the November 1 event not only secured her place at the top of the podium but also set a new program record with a blistering time of 22:03.3 over the challenging 6,000-meter course.
Bundy led from wire to wire over second place by 23 seconds. Bundy earned the titles of USA South Runner of the Year, Conference Champion, and First Team All-Conference 鈥 a clean sweep of the league’s top honors.
Head Coach Field Miller praised Bundy’s performance.聽
鈥淥ur team had a phenomenal day, Delaney led the way and executed perfectly,鈥 said Miller. 鈥淚 am just so proud of this group and extremely pumped for Delaney, she deserved every moment of this performance.鈥澛
Miller said the team鈥檚 focus on the day of the championship was to control what they could control and eliminate the “what-ifs.”聽
鈥淪he did that better than I have ever seen and was able to project that on the rest of the group to have the day that we did,鈥 Miller said. 鈥淚 am just so proud of this group.鈥
After their USA South Conference Championship success, the Avenging Angels delivered another historic performance at the 2025 NCAA Division III South Cross Country Regional Championships, highlighted by standout junior Delaney Bundy, who placed 7th in a new school-record time of 21:54.80.聽
National Championship Results
Bundy’s top-10 finish earned her USTFCCCA All-Region honors. It secured an individual qualification to the 2025 NCAA DIII Cross Country National Championships鈥攎aking her just the second runner in program history to advance to the national meet.
Bundy capped off a standout season with an impressive performance at the national championship. Racing against the deepest field in the nation, Bundy crossed the line in 22:42.6 over the challenging 6,000-meter layout, earning an 85th-place national finish. Her top-100 finish solidifies her standing as one of the top runners in both the USA South and the South Region.
Her performance marks another milestone for 缅北禁地 Cross Country as her 85th-place finish is now the highest finishing Avenging Angel in program history.
