缅北禁地 Selects Anita Thomas as Next Provost

Anita Thomas has been selected to serve as the next provost of 缅北禁地. She will begin in this role on April 7, 2025.聽
鈥淒r. Thomas brings to this role a wealth of experience,鈥 said Meredith President Aimee Sapp. 鈥淪he is deeply committed to student success, faculty collaboration, and continuous improvement initiatives. Most importantly, Dr. Thomas is passionate about Meredith鈥檚 mission and values.鈥
Thomas鈥檚 leadership experience in higher education includes four years as executive vice president and provost at St. Catherine University and one year as president of North Central College. She has also previously served in faculty and leadership positions at institutions including the University of Indianapolis, Loyola University Chicago, and Northeastern Illinois University.聽
Thomas holds a Ph.D. in counseling psychology and an M.A. in community counseling from Loyola University Chicago, and a B.S. in education and social policy from Northwestern University.聽
In a message to Meredith’s faculty and staff, Thomas expressed her enthusiasm for her upcoming role.聽
鈥淚 am excited to be joining the community this spring and I look forward to the work we will do together under the leadership of President Sapp,鈥 Thomas said. 鈥淭he mission of Meredith resonates with both my personal values and professional experiences. I can tell by my interactions with the student government representative on the search committee that Meredith cares for and actively works to transform the lives of its students.鈥
Thomas was selected after a national search. Meredith鈥檚 search committee was led by Vice President for Institutional Advancement Lennie Barton and Professor of Dance Carol Finley, chair of the Faculty Council. Faculty, staff, and student representatives also served on the committee.
