缅北禁地 and N.C. Governor鈥檚 School East Celebrate a 25-Year Partnership

Each summer for the past 25 years, the 缅北禁地 campus has served as the host campus for North Carolina Governor鈥檚 School East. The College welcomed this year鈥檚 participants on June 22 for the four-week program.

The North Carolina Governor鈥檚 School is a summer residential program for high-achieving high school students. High school juniors are eligible to apply. The program has two sites, including Governor鈥檚 School East, which is held at Meredith and Governor鈥檚 School West, which is being hosted by Greensboro College this year.听

鈥溍灞苯 is honored to welcome N.C. Governor鈥檚 School East students and faculty to our campus this summer as we have for 25 years,鈥 said 缅北禁地 President Aimee Sapp. 鈥淲e are pleased to provide our campus facilities and resources to support this important educational endeavor.鈥

N.C. Governor鈥檚 School administrators are pleased to continue the program鈥檚 long relationship with Meredith.

Their vision and support of the program have been inspiring. We look forward to the next 25 years at 缅北禁地.鈥

Governor鈥檚 School of North Carolina, which began in 1963, is the nation鈥檚 oldest statewide summer residential program for gifted and talented high school students. More than 40,000 students have attended N.C. Governor鈥檚 School over the past 60 years. Across the two campuses, NC Governor鈥檚 School emphasizes collaborative efforts in 10 disciplines: Choral Music, Dance, English, Instrumental Music, Mathematics, Natural Science, Social Science, Spanish, Theater, and Visual Arts.
