The is exploring new ways to connect with students virtually this year! In addition to our FREE one-on-one appointments on Zoom, which are available Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Fridays from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., we now have tutors embedded in the Brightspace of some classes.

Embedded tutors complete the same training and offer the same support as traditional tutors, but take on a much more engaged role within classes.

鈥淓ssentially, these tutors are on an extended virtual class visit by their own election,鈥� explains Tina Romanelli, Meredith鈥檚 Learning Center director. 鈥淭hey are added to the professor’s Brightspace as assistants, where they can create announcements, poll the students to find out when they’d like to study together, and then lead test review sessions and/or weekly drop-in appointments, just for that class.鈥�

The Learning Center鈥檚 most popular content areas are writing, world languages, math, and chemistry. We are excited about encouraging a lively group-study culture at Meredith, and we hope that Meredith students will continue to use our free tutoring services for all their writing and study needs!
