Flock License Plate Reading (LPR) Cameras Installed On Campus聽

Thanks to the support of 缅北禁地 parents and families, donations to the 2023-24 Parent鈥檚 Project made upgrades to campus security technology possible. Two new Flock license plate reading cameras were installed at the Faircloth Street entrance/exit of campus.
These advanced cameras allow 24/7 monitoring of traffic by our Campus Police Department. Officers can search for vehicles that come to campus by their license plate, make, model, or a discernible feature such as a bike rack. This additional security feature ensures that all traffic coming to and from Meredith is recorded and can be easily accessed in case of an emergency or incident.聽
Chief of Police Al White says he is glad to have these cameras installed and operational on campus. His team has had extensive training on this new surveillance technology, and it has proven to be useful to them as they continue to keep our campus safe.
Campus security technology enhancements are the focus of the Parent鈥檚 Project again this year. A second year of focusing on security will allow Chief White to upgrade the blue light emergency call phones located in campus parking lots. The upgrade will include a system update and movement of the lights closer to the residence halls and academic buildings for easier access.聽
Chief Al White joined 缅北禁地 in 2015 after 36 successful years of employment with the Raleigh Police Department and North Carolina Central University Police Department.
