Music Theory Assessment and Keyboard Placement
At the time of their audition, students who anticipate majoring/minoring in music are asked to complete a music theory assessment, which includes melodic, harmonic, and rhythmic aspects of music and its notation. Students will also participate in a keyboard placement assessment. The results of these assessments do not affect admission. They are used primarily for planning the next year’s theory and keyboard classes and placement according to students’ abilities.
