The 缅北禁地 Honors program accepts approximately 50 intellectually gifted and ambitious students each year to participate in special opportunities and capitalize on their strength to fulfill their academic potential.
Incoming First-Year Students
The deadline to apply for the Honors Program is November 16.
To be considered for admission to the Honors program, incoming first-year students should meet the following baseline academic criteria:
- The Honors Program is test-optional.
- 3.9 GPA
- Inclusion in the top 10% of her high school graduating class (when rank is available)
Application Process
Step 1. Submit your Early Action application for admission to the college.
Step 2. After submitting your application, you will receive an email with instructions to log in to your applicant portal.
Step 3. Use your log in information* to .
Step 4. The Honors Program director will review applications. Applicants who meet the criteria and show promise to be successful in Meredith鈥檚 Honors Program are invited to interview with faculty and current Honors student on Saturday, December 6, 2025.
Step 5. Final decisions on admission to Honors are made by the director of the Honors program.
*Log in using the Admissions Applicant Portal Temporary PIN or password you established after you submitted your application for admission to the College.
Criteria for evaluation of applications include the following:
- Strength of academic record
- Number of Honors/AP/IB classes and performance in these classes
- Strength of senior year courses and performance
- Essay or writing sample
- Academic honors and awards
- National honors (e.g., NHS, National Merit finalist)
- State and other honors (Governor鈥檚 School, Park nominee, Morehead nominee)
- Leaderships positions in school, church and community
- Letters of recommendation from teachers, counselors and alumnae
Transfer Students
Talented and motivated transfer students are invited to apply for the Honors program at Meredith. Participation in the Honors program at a previous institution is not required. Transfer students who meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply.
A minimum of 15 credit hours completed at a previous institution (community college, college, or university)
Have at least 60 credit hours remaining to complete at 缅北禁地 before graduation
A strong academic track record, which typically includes:
- An outstanding GPA (above 3.5)
- A challenging course selection
- A consistent record of academic and/or personal challenge and accomplishment prior to attending Meredith
The motivation and desire to participate fully in the Honors program
Current Students
While most Honors students are admitted as incoming first year students, a small number of exceptional students are accepted to the program mid-year. 缅北禁地 students who meet the following requirements are encouraged to apply:
- Completion of a minimum of 15 credit hours at 缅北禁地 (current semester included) and at least 60 hours remaining until graduation
- An outstanding 缅北禁地 GPA (most students admitted at mid-year have a GPA above 3.85)
- A challenging course selection
- A consistent record of academic and/or personal challenge and accomplishment prior to attending 缅北禁地
- Motivation and desire to participate fully in the Honors program
