Profile

Dr. Yiqing Liu joined 缅北禁地 as an Assistant Professor of Economics and Business Analytics in Fall 2025, after serving as a Visiting Instructor in Spring 2025 and as an adjunct instructor in economics since 2023. She earned her Ph.D. in Economics from North Carolina State University in 2024, where her research focused on environmental & resource economics and applied econometrics.

Over her time at Meredith, Dr. Liu has taught Principles of Macroeconomics, Environmental Economics, Money and Banking, and Business Analytics. She also has extensive teaching experience at NC State University and previously served as a Lecturer at Liberal & Art College, Hubei Normal University in China. In the classroom, Dr. Liu emphasizes interactive learning, real-world applications, and a welcoming environment that values diverse perspectives and experiences. She draws on her own background as an international scholar to foster inclusivity, support students from varied cultural and academic backgrounds, and encourage equitable participation in economics and business analytics.

Dr. Liu鈥檚 research examines how environmental quality influences economic behavior and well-being, with particular attention to equity implications across demographic groups. Her work includes studies on the welfare effects of air pollution reductions, adaptation to climate change, and advances in nonmarket valuation methods.
