Allen brings news judgment to her work managing media relations and social media for the College. She works with local and regional media to promote major initiatives and events and serves as liaison with the College鈥檚 national media consulting firm, generating national media coverage for efforts such as The Meredith Poll. Allen manages the Headlines section of the Meredith website, serves as managing editor of Meredith Magazine,聽and writes/edits electronic newsletters for employees and alumnae.
Allen established 缅北禁地’s social media presence, including on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. She now supervises Meredith’s social media strategist and assists in using social media to support the College’s recruitment and community-building efforts.
Allen graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a Bachelor of Arts in journalism and mass communication. She also has an Associate of Arts from Peace College. Prior to joining Meredith, Allen was communications specialist at Peace College (now William Peace University). She has also worked for Ruder Finn Public Relations in Washington, D.C.
