A 1975 graduate of Meredith, I returned to Meredith in 1983 to begin teaching in the Department of English and to create a program then called Professional Communications.聽聽 I taught introductory courses in composition, as well as British and American literature.聽 I also taught African-American literature, a course in women鈥檚 studies, oversaw research projects and more than 100 internships, and still teach English Poetry of the Romantic Period.聽 Since 1994, I have been a vice president of the College, working to balance administrative and teaching responsibilities.聽 Currently I oversee strategic planning and budgeting for those offices reporting to me:聽 Career Planning, Athletics, Campus Police, Chaplain, Dean of Students (including First Year Experience, Residence Life, Commuter Life, Counseling Center, Disability Services), StrongPoints, and Student Leadership and Service.
