缅北禁地 compete at the NCAA Division III level in the . Meredith currently offers basketball, cross country, field hockey, golf, lacrosse, soccer, softball, tennis, track and field (indoor and outdoor), and volleyball, with flag football starting in 2026-27.
Avenging Angels student-athletes succeed in their sports and in the classroom. Our teams have won more than 35 USA South Championships with more than 750 USA South All-Academic students. And Meredith is a previous winner of the USA South Women鈥檚 President鈥檚 Cup.
New Sport Coming to 缅北禁地!
Why add flag football?
Flag football has been one of the fastest-growing sports in the country. In 2024, more than 700,000 youth participated in NFL FLAG leagues, including nearly 500,000 female athletes. Flag football will also be a sport in the .
By adding flag football, 缅北禁地 will be part of this growing sport at the collegiate level. At least 65 NCAA schools are sponsoring women’s flag football at either the club or varsity levels this year, with more slated to join in 2026.
At the high school level, interest in flag football is growing. Over the last five years, participation in high school women鈥檚 flag football has grown by nearly 15 percent. Twelve states have sanctioned women鈥檚 flag football as a championship sport, including Tennessee, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. North Carolina has pilot programs in the sport.
When will competition begin?
缅北禁地 is in the process of hiring its first flag football coach, who will recruit the inaugural team and prepare the Avenging Angels for flag football competition starting in the spring of 2027.
Who will the team play?
With Meredith’s Avenging Angels being the first college in the USA South Conference to sponsor flag football as one of it’s official sports, we would play teams outside of the conference and division to start.
