Hannah Schneider
As a 2022 graduate whose sophomore year was upended by the Coronavirus pandemic, I am grateful that I had more time on campus at Meredith as an AIR. During my Fall 2022 photography residency at Meredith, I was given the platform and environment to freely experiment and create a large and cohesive body of work that I applied to graduate schools with. I enjoyed being the last individual to make use of Meredith鈥檚 darkroom, using the space to create chemigrams, solarized and bleached contact prints, and polaroid lifts. The feedback given from the group critiques and the opportunity to participate in an exhibition was invaluable, and the additional experience gained with teaching assistance will be of great use during my time in graduate school.
Currently
I recently graduated with my MFA in Experimental and Documentary Arts from Duke University. My thesis project, When will I go blind?, was awarded the 2025 Lenscratch 3rd Place Student Prize Winner. I am working towards a certificate in UX Design at Wake Tech while I freelance and look for full-time employment.
Future
I want to secure employment as a multimedia designer who utilizes her graphic design, web design, and photography skills. I see my residency at Meredith as the catalyst for my fine art photography. Hopefully, I will continue this work when employed.聽
