Naomi Hill, 鈥�21, shares her thoughts on the importance of being present and forming quality friendships in college.

鈥淏e fully part of the experience and be present as much as you possibly can. Make really good friends who care about you, have the same morals as you, and want you to be successful and to thrive.鈥�

Erykah Harris, 鈥�21, has found the professors at Meredith to be extremely supportive. She encourages young students to form relationships with them and reach out when help is needed.

鈥淩each out to your professors. They truly cherish your education here at Meredith and they’re here for a reason. So if you are ever struggling, make sure you reach out and get the help that you need. Don’t be afraid to do it because professors at Meredith aren’t intimidating.鈥�

Kimberly Schuh, 鈥�21, shares advice for students who are still finalizing their decision about where to attend college.听

鈥淭ake into consideration what you are looking for out of the experience.听 Personally, both of my parents went to very large institutions, and I knew that was not something I wanted to do. I wanted small class sizes, a community, the ability to excel in academics, and participate in athletics. I found Meredith to be my perfect fit and听 couldn’t think of a better place to go to where I could have that small, personalized feel with a balanced academic and athletic experience.鈥�

Megan Gale, 鈥�21, dispels the belief that best friends don鈥檛 make for good roommates.听

鈥淢y best friend and I moved in together our freshman year and we stayed roommates all four years, so it can happen. We鈥檝e also co-chaired many different events together. Having someone who will go to the dining hall with you every single day or even someone who will just go pick up a package from the mailroom with you – it’s really great, and it’s something that you get on a small campus. You form deep, interpersonal relationships.鈥�

Megan also believes in the importance of getting involved on campus.

鈥淚t鈥檚 not all about what happens in the classroom. You’ll probably forget that one grade you got on a test or on a paper. But what you’re going to remember is the connections you make with your classmates, the staff, and the faculty members here on campus. I found it really important to be able to form those relationships because those are the people who are going to support me through my academics and throughout the rest of my life – from new job opportunities to networking – those are the people that are going to be there for me.鈥�
