Last weekend, we celebrated the Class of 2024 and all their accomplishments at Commencement. We can鈥檛 wait to see what鈥檚 in store for our newest alumnae as they begin a new journey in life 鈥 one thing鈥檚 for sure, we know they will continue going strong.
In this blog, we are excited to share some of our students鈥 success and hope they give you an idea of how a Meredith education can impact you. Here are 11 Strong Stories from the Class of 2024.
When Wings student Breanna Bivens, 鈥24, returned to school she chose to study social work, a major that made the most of her ability to help others and connect them with needed resources.
As a biology and psychology major, Alyshena Case, 鈥24, adopted a growth mindset which improved her confidence and prepared her for the future. Through her research experiences at Meredith, she has learned to believe in herself when faced with a challenge. After graduation, Alyshena will be working as a Behavior Technician at Mosaic Pediatric Therapies.
At Meredith, psychology major Lexi Crank, 鈥24, has learned the importance of doing what you love, including a passion for helping others learn, asking tough questions, and traveling.
As a first-generation college student, navigating the college application process was difficult for Yakira Gonzalez, 鈥24. Looking back, she鈥檚 glad she completed the process and spent the last four years at Meredith making connections and building on her strengths.
Fashion design major Tiani Hinnant, 鈥24, has taken advantage of various opportunities during her time at 缅北禁地 to help her become a strong leader.
Computer science major Wanjiru Mambo, 鈥24, gained valuable experience through two internships and campus involvement. As a passionate learner, she is confident to enter the field of data science after graduation.
Tiffany Millner, 始24, majored in psychology later in life to become a licensed counselor and help women overcome obstacles. The community at Meredith has helped nurture her and she looks forward to helping others as a licensed professional counselor.
With support from her advisors, business administration major Remay Pemba, 鈥24, pursued her passion for finance, studied abroad, completed multiple internships at top organizations, and prepared for her chosen career by building strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
A recommendation from her community college art professor led graphic design major Josefina Mercedes Puello, 鈥24, to Meredith, where she鈥檚 gaining the skills to turn her passion for design into a career.
Through two internships, sociology and criminology major Nia Simpson, 鈥24, discovered a passion for working with juveniles and improving the justice system. Next up: Earning a Master of Social Work from N.C. Central University.
As a student in Meredith鈥檚 Dual Degree Engineering Program, Amanda Webb, 鈥24, has built connections with students and faculty while strengthening her communication and problem-solving skills.
