In this post, we鈥檙e highlighting a few of the picture-perfect spots. Whether you鈥檙e visiting for the first time or returning to campus, you鈥檒l be sure to find the best spot for your picture.
#1 Meredith LakeMeredith Lake is a scenic space for students to unwind and enjoy the great outdoors. The lake features plenty of charming spots to take photos with your friends and family, including some bridges, a gazebo, and an island with a beautiful bronze sculpture of a girl dancing with birds.
#2 Elizabeth Triplett Beam FountainLocated in front of Johnson Hall, the Elizabeth Triplett Beam Fountain Plaza is a classic spot for photos. The circular brick fountain features the College鈥檚 seal (known as the Lux) and makes a great option for FDOC or Commencement pictures.
Fun Fact: The 鈥渟teps鈥 in the fountain were made from the original marble steps that led up to the entrance of Johnson Hall, but please resist the understandable urge to climb on them 鈥 they can be slippery!
#3 Heck FountainNamed after Fannie E.S. Heck, a social activist and writer who was a benefactor of Meredith, Heck Fountain is located in the center of Meredith鈥檚 main courtyard. Surrounded by historic brick buildings, expansive lawns, and beautiful trees, you鈥檒l have plenty of options to get the perfect shot.
#4 Onyx ring statueDriving down Main Campus Drive, you鈥檒l see the Onyx ring statue, funded by donors including Balfour, the company that makes our rings, and dedicated in honor of Jo Allen, 鈥80, the College鈥檚 first alumna president. The 缅北禁地 Class Ring symbolizes the bond between Meredith students and alumnae, as well as their academic accomplishments. Pose with your Onyx ring to show your Meredith pride!
#5 Jones ChapelRecently renovated, Jones Chapel offers a graceful setting for pictures with its white columns and classic architecture.
